Overview:
Generator Supercenter of St. Louis is hiring! They are seeking a motivated Apprentice Generator Installer who is eager to learn the ins and outs of generator installation and develop strong skills within the electrical trade.
As an Apprentice Generator Installer, you will support the installation of residential standby generator systems while working alongside experienced crew leads and field team members.

This hands-on role includes assisting with panel rewiring, automatic transfer switch installations, conduit and cable runs, trenching, equipment setup, and general jobsite labor. Work is completed under company electrical oversight, with support available from the company’s licensed master electrician as needed. This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, mechanically inclined, eager to learn, and ready to grow through real field experience.

Electrical Installation Support:
  • Assist with panel rewiring related to residential generator installations.
  • Assist with installation of automatic transfer switches, disconnects, breakers, and related electrical equipment.
  • Help with conduit runs, wire pulls, cable runs, and routing of electrical materials.
  • Support final equipment placement, setup, and installation tasks on generator projects.
  • Learn installation methods, safety practices, and company standards through hands-on field experience.

Jobsite Labor & Field Support:
  • Perform trenching, digging, backfilling, and site preparation for underground electrical runs.
  • Assist crew leads with daily installation tasks and jobsite needs.
  • Help move materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently throughout the job.
  • Maintain clean and organized jobsites during and after installation.
  • Support other field tasks needed to complete the installation successfully.

Tools, Equipment & Safety:
  • Help maintain tools, vehicles, equipment, and shop organization.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and properly.
  • Follow company safety procedures and field expectations at all times.
  • Assist in maintaining a professional and efficient jobsite environment.

Customer & Team Support:
  • Communicate professionally with homeowners, team members, and supervisors.
  • Represent the company well on jobsites through professionalism, reliability, and work ethic.
  • Support crew leads and field staff with day-to-day job completion.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical trade skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions effectively.
  • Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Comfortable using shovels, rakes, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Experience with electrical work, generators, construction, or similar field work is preferred.
  • Ownership of basic electricians hand tools preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
